Hello everybody.
Does anyone know if there are plans to release a Peter Hammill box similar to the VDGG Charisma Years box?
I mean his Charisma Records period in the 70s? Thanks.

A PH Box Set: Salivation Time. I'm already contemplating its format which leads me to pose a question? What would the rarities disc(s) have on them? He doesn't seem to have released too many non-album tracks during this period. Of course there's the lovely Rain 3am and the Playaway Tintagel. I guess it would be mainly demos and unearthed live material. Maybe some guest appearances like with Colin Scot. But am I wrong? Hopefully the sagacious Lighthouse or other forum gurus can shine some sort of light.

Perhaps it can focus on live material--the best sounding show or show segment (if a complete show isn't available) from each year--so one can appreciate how the songs on the albums evolved when played live. The organization could be album, live show from the tour to promote the album; album, live show; etc. Demos and alternate takes could either be compiled together on a disc/discs focusing on just them or, if there are enough for the corresponding album, placed on a single disc within the chronology (i.e., album, unreleased studio, live show).

A Charisma Box would end with PH7, but Virgin owns also the rights for the other albums up to And Close as This (1987), except the 2 K-Group albums Enter K and Patience.
For rarities of the 70s in such a box set there is not that much I assume, mainly the stuff that already was released on the CDs. And:
The Polaroid Birthday Special (the slightly different single release) Red Shift (different mix for Italian single)
The complete BBC sessions should be in, which includes a great In Concert with DJ from 1979, and hopefully all from BBC master tapes.
I doubt that Hammill made a live recording then, but there is some suitable bootleg material, at least from the late 70s.
After the VdGG box did not contain any demos, I doubt that such will make a PH box.
