In 2007, HB was interviewed by Mark Krueger for "Planet Prog" (WMSE 91.7 -- Milwaukee, WI; USA). It's a great show and a rare opportunity to hear Hugh interviewed on the radio.

Great interview. Shame it stops just as they're about to play Every Bloody Emperor. Pleased that Hugh chose to play My Room as that's one of my favourite VDGG songs.

Re My Room - for some reason, I didn't like this song when I first heard it on 'Still life'. It was only when I saw one of the first performances by the new Evans/Hammill/Potter/Smith line up at the Roundhouse in Feb. 1977 (showing my age) did the song start making sense. It's now one of my favourites. Apart from the song itself, it features fascinating instrumental interplay, especially between Hammill and Jackson; Banton contributes less to this track (bass) than he does to most tracks, so it is indeed surprising that he singled out this track.
