Interesting news. I suppose every musician wants to do a covers album at some time in their career and sometimes the cover versions are better than the originals. I like it when a musician or band make the cover version their own and don't stick strictly to making a copy. I'm thinking along the lines of Hendrix with Hey Joe here or Ferry with Hard Rain and Bowie with Sorrow. An unusual mixed bag has been chosen. One from the musical South Pacific for example. Would have been funny if he'd chosen Happy Talk, but I suppose Capt Sensible has got the best out of that!

Very welcome news. I've been hoping for a Hammill covers album for decades.

Very welcome news. I've been hoping for a Hammill covers album for decades. What do you think about his choice of songs though? Would you have preferred something more familiar? A Hammill take on "God Save The Queen" for example. The Pistols version not the Royal anthem of course!

Phew, doesn't sound promising to me ... Just for the hardcore fans maybe, the ones who have to have everything by Hammill?
