Assuming the tour will actually start on October 24th in Helsinki I am interested what exactly those few pilgrims from the UK will be doing in order to make sure that all requirements for travel will be up to date so that no airport obstruction can conceivably occur and flights will proceed unhindered. Presumably there is plenty of confusion at the moment in view of the persisting degrees of the pandemic and I don't want to book any flight unless I will be assured of definite travel. Normally I would have taken several trains from Calais all the way to Helsinki but unfortunately these are not normal times. On the other hand the tour might be again postponed but then maybe it will start as aforesaid. In short what should anyone from UK do in order to make sure that flights to Helsinki won't be obstructed ?

PH didn't seem all that confident about the Scandi gigs on the Freak Zone radio interview but I have no additional info. Apart from the risk of cancellation, travel is a nightmare at the moment. I just returned to the UK from France where I spent 88 days (90 is the limit) and had to jump through numerous ever-changing hoops in order to travel. When I went, the French required a PCR test (plus double jab evidence) which shortly after was scrapped but the UK required a pre-departure PCR test plus 2/5/8 day tests and quarantine, which was also mostly scrapped except that you then needed a pre-departure antigen/lateral flow test. That's an easy thing for the government to ask for but not always that easy to pull off in a foreign country where you might not speak the language, and all within 3 days of travel. You have to constantly monitor the news for changes to requirements. One piece of advice that I can offer is to be organised about your returning pre-departure test before you begin your journey. You can get lateral flow tests to take with you - I was already in France when these were introduced but someone bought some test kits over for us. About £29 each (NHS kits are not allowed) and you do the test yourself and upload a photo of your passport and the test strip. The result certificate is then emailed to you. This saves a trip to a foreign lab. But it was all rather stressful especially having to fill in the badly-worded "Passenger Locator" form online which takes some time. And let's not forget the extra time to get through airport/Eurotunnel security now that they check everything. So I will not be heading to Scandinavia in October! Phil.

I think (hope) that the new government guidance that came out last week was that from 4th October there will be no need to do a test before returning to UK provided you're double-jabbed

Quite right some changes from October 4th but not completely scrapped and there might be some unknown rules when going from Finland to Sweden and even harsher rules from Sweden to Norway. I suppose I will be taking my chances and hope it will turn out well. Even after all this discussion I might completely change my mind at the very last moment and not go this time. Stockholm and Gothenburg posters have been made and I saw pictures of them on Facebook.

Not much time left for any changes so it will definitely start. I have arranged my departure to Helsinki.
